Design team superstars

At studio RWD, we value freedom of expression and collaboration within our team of talented designers. This honesty and openness carries through to the relationships we form with our clients and lies at the heart of what we do, which is why our most important asset at studio RWD are the people who work here.

As we bid farewell to our lovely Junior Interior Designer, Nicole who is heading back home to Canada at the end of the month, we thought it would be the perfect time to acquaint you with two other amazing members of our design team. We quizzed them on their career story so far and favourite places to visit in London. Get to know them here…

Tatiana Pietrangeli

Tatiana hit the ground running at studio RWD in October 2017.

What has your career story been so far? Fairly young career still! Got my bachelor’s in architecture in 2011, and since then I’ve applied my degree in the architectural and interior design industry. I’ve worked on a number of projects, which vary in degree and type, from residential to commercial. I moved to London in 2014 and I’ve found a lovely niche in interior design with a passion that keeps growing. From that passion arises the desire to keep learning and improving my knowledge base, I am currently looking for master degree options to continue my studies.

If you weren’t an interior designer, what would you be? Definitely something related to animals, marine biologist or a veterinarian!

What talent would you most like to have? I would love to be a bit more consistent with my exercise regime! Would that be considered a talent?

What are your top three places to go in London?

  • Southbank – love to walk from Waterloo Station to St Pauls Cathedral – (protip: great initial walk for all your friends and family that have never been to London)
  • Richmond  – in particular Richmond Hill – if you’ve never been, you are seriously missing out on amazing views of the park
  • Kew botanical gardens – exhibits to see at any time of the year – rain or shine.

Imogen Newey

The newest addition to our team, Imogen is already a superstar in the studio.

What has your career story been so far? Design, particularly of interiors and art, have always been my passions but with such a broad range of interests, from art to science to humanities, I balanced studying English and History at Loughborough University with further development of experience in the design industry. By journeying through marketing and publishing, to film, followed by concept game design I found interior design. As soon as I tried interior design I knew it was what I was born to do. So alongside industry experience I attended KLC Design College to enhance my qualifications. Now working with the fantastic and welcoming Roselind Wilson Design team I wake up genuinely loving Mondays!

If you weren’t an interior designer, what would you be? I’d be an architect…but if my answer has to be a world away (ish) from interior design I’d be a psychologist, as the way we are affected by our environments and interactions fascinates me endlessly. The way our environment can affect our health, moods, subconscious, daily routines and even thought processes is perhaps one of the many reasons I love interior design.

What talent would you most like to have? I think my positive determination is my greatest asset. My most desired talent is greater self-assurance, but that is why I continue to practice and devote time towards mastering processes or skills I have yet to.

What are your top three places to go in London?

  • Battersea Park – so many positive memories, activities and different sections
  • The British Museum – so much to learn, as well as a great way to consolidate cultural practices and historical information
  • Does walking through the Chelsea Design Quarter along to the Harbour count as one place? – As I couldn’t single out a favourite from such great variety
