SBID International Design Awards 2013

We were delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist for our Holland Park project in the Residential Sector of the Society of British and International Design (SBID) Awards 2013.

Holland Park

Bespoke luxury interior design

Our Holland Park period property has a contemporary, paired down design scheme and fulfils the needs of a young London family. Our client requested a child-friendly home, with space to run around practical furnishings and clutter-free surfaces.

Soft, muted colours have been used throughout, giving the property a gentle warmth. Rooms have been left white, maximising the light and space. All windows at the front of the property have been left undressed, aiding the simple design and allowing any available light to fill the rooms.

A key part of the brief was to create a fun space for the couple’s two young boys, which has been achieved with splashes of colour and a climbing wall in the children’s playroom. It’s an imaginative, practical and fun space with plenty of storage and adaptability – essential things to consider when decorating your child’s bedroom. Favourite design features in this room include the 3D effect paint wallpaper and upholstered portholes where the boys read and play.

About the SBID Awards

Considered as one of the most prestigious accolades in interior design by the best in the industry, the SBID International Design Awards are awarded purely on the quality of the design, innovation, aesthetic and value-added to the project. Each entry undergoes an exhaustive two-tier judging process by panels of leading industry experts for both technical content and aesthetic creativity.

Evaluating essential elements such as compliance with the brief, budget, health & safety and fit-for-purpose design. The public vote is the final tier of scoring where the public are invited to cast their votes for their favourite entries. These votes are then counted towards the overall results.
