A celebration of floral design

Spring is in full bloom as is the Chelsea Flower Show and a celebration of floral design at the Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour. So we’re joining in the floral festivity with a look at how we’ve welcomed floral fabrics into some of our residential projects. We’re also indulging in the gorgeous Maison Alma Spring/Summer 2018 collection of bags and coats handcrafted with Pierre Frey summer prints.

Floral prints add an elegant touch to an interior scheme, and when taking a layered approach to the design, graceful floral patterns are particularly highlighted when paired with rich textures or contrasting lines and shapes within the space.

In the girl’s bedroom of our Richmond luxury design project, we used gentle floral fabrics and contrasting patterns set against a striking geometric rug and a backdrop of soft blue, teal and lavender hues.

We chose a striking floral design for the Roman blind in the guest bedroom of our Richmond project, which perfectly offsets the bold stripe of the tangerine and navy rug. One of our favourite features of this elegant room is the vibrant floral fabric used for the cushion – a fresh burst of flowers that’s given prominence when set against a bespoke white bench.

The headboard in the second guest bedroom of our Richmond project has been fitted with a cotton slip cover in a delicate floral fabric to complement the rustic contemporary scheme of the room. It works in perfect harmony with the raw and humble texture of the reclaimed, bleached oak desk.

What could be more chic than a dressing table designed in bird’s eye maple with drawer panels clad in an elegant floral fabric. Paired with a stool upholstered in a golden saffron, this tranquil corner of the master bedroom in our Bromptons project is perfectly comforting.

Make a style statement in summer prints

We’ve always been inspired by the strong ties between interior design and fashion so we were beyond excited when we discovered the Maison Alma and Pierre Frey collaboration of coats and bags for the Spring/Summer 2018 Collection.

The new Spring/Summer 2018 LA BOTANICA outerwear and bag collection is a curated selection of tropical prints and floral embroideries by Pierre Frey. From relaxed trench coats and kimono wrap coats to linens, wallpaper and bags, we’re heading straight to their online shop.
Our favourite prints include:
FLORES CATAY – a linen print that evokes the lush nature of far-away lands.

JUNGLA – a spectacular design created by Philippine Poplu that blends geometric motifs and luxuriant nature in a Guatemalan inspiration. What’s your favourite piece from the collection?
