The owners of this stunning Arts and Crafts property were captivated by its classical character and idyllic setting. Situated on a verdant avenue near the heart of historic Harrogate, it presented the perfect framework to create a vibrant forever home. The Roselind Wilson Design team delighted in transforming the interior into a sophisticated yet quirky space, able to meet the demands of a busy, multigenerational family with a love of art and travel.
The charm lay in the scope to either scale up or calm the dramatic backdrop of traditional wainscoting, monolithic stone fireplaces and intricate cornicing, while building a seamless sense of flow.

In the library, we introduced a classical wall-to-wall timber bookshelf juxtaposed against paired-back modern furnishings. We offset the traditional joinery by taking a deep grey-blue shade from floor to ceiling, colour-washing the woodwork to create an elegantly refined, comfortable space with welcoming, romantic undertones.
