Considered as one of the most prestigious accolades in interior design by the best in the industry, the SBID International Design Awards are awarded purely on the quality of the design, innovation, aesthetic and value-added to the project. We’re delighted that our Carlton Hill project has been shortlisted as a Finalist in the Residential House Under £1 Million Design category of the SBID International Design Awards 2019.
The Residential Design Under £1 Million category focuses on interior design projects with an overall value of under £1 Million; recognising not only the achievement for the budget but also the functionality and aesthetics. Entries for this category were received from countries such India, UK, France, United States, Russia, Spain, New Zealand and more.
Each entry undergoes an exhaustive two-tier judging process by panels of leading industry experts for both technical content and aesthetic creativity. Evaluating essential elements such as compliance with the brief, budget, health & safety and fit-for-purpose design.
The public vote is the final tier of scoring where the public are invited to cast their votes for their favourite entries and their votes are counted towards the overall results. Thank you to everyone who voted for us! Public voting is now closed and the winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in October 2019.
Carlton Hill is a beautiful stucco-fronted Victorian residence situated in St John’s Wood, a tranquil village in the heart of London that sweeps along the side of Regent’s Park. Spanning 5 floors and circa 5,000 square feet, we were appointed to refurbish, including the interior architecture, interior design and project management of this five-bedroom, five-bathroom home. The interior design and interior architecture focus on creating harmony and balance within the space. Delicate furnishings and uncluttered décor allow for a timeless elegance and graceful grandeur, while the colour palette showcases neutral blues, soft greys, dusky pinks and flat whites. This perfectly marries the interiors of handsome beauty, modern-day luxury and contemporary styling.
The SBID Awards were recently accredited as the first interior design awards scheme to achieve GOLD standard by The Independent Awards Standards Council and were commended as “exemplar in how awards should be operated”.
Founder and CEO of SBID, Dr Vanessa Brady OBE says: “The SBID International Design Awards continue to grow from strength to strength with more submissions received, more countries represented and this year we have an additional category. It is known across the design industry as the premier design award to win and for that, we are quite rightly very proud to present it, as much as our entrants are to win it.”
